"In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured." President Gordon B. Hinckley

"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will--to your surprise--miss them profoundly." President Thomas S. Monson

O Canada

Dear Canada,
I know that I give you a hard time. I call you barely inhabitable...like the year there was a power surge at the Jacobs residence and we had cold showers and had to huddle around the wood burning stove...oh, and like the year we went up in August and we froze our little tails off. You were foggy and frigid in August!...and I complain about how poor Linda gets snowed in and doesn't even have a garage to park her frosty car in. But then you go and show me an August like you had this year, and I have to reconsider. You were stunning. Your wildlife was amazing. Your colors were gorgeous. Your rivers and grass were abundant. You were every child's delight. It almost makes those winters seem bearable. Almost, I said. You really do need to work on those winters.
Signed,
Wife of a Canadian at Heart

Scenes from my morning run just steps out of the front door below. (You know that I don't get too far. My run is a brisk walk for Dereck.) Also, a little plug for my trusty iPhone. These photos were taken with my iPhone, folks. Decent quality, don't you think?
