Dereck and I have come a long way from the days of trying to go to every wonderful play, concert, and wholesome Christmas activity. We really slimmed down our festivities so we could enjoy nights at home sitting by the softly lit tree. Dereck was very busy with school through the holidays this year. I took the girls to one of my favorites-Festival of Trees-with my mother.

Temple Square is still an all-time favorite:
One of our favorite holiday activities this year was laying on the floor as a family and watching Polar Express:
"In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured." President Gordon B. Hinckley
"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will--to your surprise--miss them profoundly." President Thomas S. Monson
